Tobacco Barn Distillery Highlighted on Maryland Farm & Harvest

Tobacco Barn Distillery, Maryland’s premier farm-to-bottle bourbon producer, was recently featured on Maryland Public Television’s acclaimed series Maryland Farm & Harvest. The show highlighted the distillery’s commitment to crafting high-quality bourbon using corn grown on their own family farm in St. Mary’s County. Founded in 2014 by veterans Scott Sanders, Dan Dawson, and Sean Cogan, the distillery has grown steadily while maintaining its dedication to small-batch, handcrafted spirits.

Award-Winning Small-Batch Bourbon Production

The distillery is recognized for its authentic approach, producing about two barrels of bourbon each week from locally sourced ingredients without shortcuts. In 2023, Tobacco Barn Distillery was named the number one farmer distillery in America by the American Craft Spirits Association. Their bourbon derives much of its sweet flavor from American white oak barrels, Maryland’s state tree, which contribute natural wood sugars during the aging process. This unique method connects the spirit authentically to Maryland’s agricultural heritage.
